Sneak Peak into the November Meeting

We’re grateful for the Urban Working Group who is hosting us at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, November 14. This will be our last time time to gather as Presbytery at the Covenant Church. They have sold their building! We will make sure to prayerfully send them into their next season of life together as they use their resources for worship and work in new ways.

The Central Leadership Team has fashioned the meeting around the question, “How are we as the church here in central NJ to respond faithfully to all that is happening in our world?” To that end, here’s a look at the evening:

5:30pm Dinner Begins – If you’re able, please join us for table fellowship. Building relationships is so important and there is no better way to build companionship than to break bread.

6:30pm Meeting is called to order

6:45pm Worship led by the Rev. Dr. Jeff Vamos, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. We’ve asked Jeff to fashion the service like their WiNK (Worship in a New Key) Service. WiNK is…

7:30pm Our Equip piece begins with a presentation by Dr. John Bowlin, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Christian Ethics at Princeton Theological Seminary. He will speak to us about “Justice and the Common Good.” He will speak to us through the lens of his interaction with students and with his sight set on “hope, church and virtue.”

After we hear from Dr. Bowlin, we will engage in discussion together led by the Central Leadership Team.

8:15pm Our Business Meeting begins.

Might we encourage you with the words of the writer of Hebrews, “And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” See you next Tuesday!
